Situated in the Saint-Bon-Tarentaise commune, Courchevel ski resorts benefits from relatively quick access from 4 local airports. Myriads of transfer companies of varying sizes offer taxi, minibus and coach transfers through the Tarentaise valley area and as such there can be an overwhelming number of options for airport journeys.
Chambery and Grenoble airports are closest to Courchevel at distances of 110km and 174km respectively. Excellent road access and shorter journey times of circa two hours make them a convenient and cheaper option for private transfers, but shared coach transfers are limited.
Geneva and Lyon airports offer a slightly longer journey time of around three hours, but also benefit from many more low-cost airlines flying in on regular routes. Fares to Lyon tend to be more expensive for transfers as there are toll roads to navigate, but some great taxi transfer options exist to link it with Courchevel. Geneva airport tends to be the busiest of the four travel hubs, and as such there are companies providing both private minibuses and shared coaches on a regular basis.
At the bottom of the mountain from Courchevel, Moutiers Station is serviced by international trains, including the Eurostar from London St Pancras. With just 25km up to Courchevel resort from here, the train represents a good value travel option – as long as you can find a company willing to take you on the last leg of the journey up the mountain.
