Snowcompare are here to help skiers & snowboarders save money on the best value airport to ski resort transfers with fully licensed & reliable local transport companies. We make it quicker & easier than ever before to book a high quality private ski transfer from a trusted partner with zero financial risk or worry.

Our Story

Snowcompare was founded in 2016 by our current Managing Director. Having previously set-up  the shared ski transfer business snowbus.co.uk, Dave had seen first-hand that there was a large demand for reliable and reasonably priced airport to ski resort transfers.

With shared transfers becoming increasingly challenging to facilitate, he noted that there were more & more people having difficulty sourcing private taxi transfers from the airports at a competitive price. At the same time, a great number of fantastic local taxi companies were not able to reach those customers because they could not afford the time or money to rank highly on online searches. 

The unique selling point for Snowcompare was therefore be connect customers looking to book private ski transfers independently, with transfer companies seeking to increase their customer base. By sourcing & collating all the available information on to one easy-to-use website the hope was that finding and booking ski transfers would become easier than ever before. 

Coupled with that, Snowcompare could use advances in technology and online tools to make the booking process quicker & easier than it often was on individual company websites. Another benefit would be to provide an added layer of reliability to customers in terms of secure online payments through a UK company, plus ensuring all partners are fully licensed and have good feedback from previous customers. 

Beginning as a small business running alongside Snowbus’s shared transfer model, we quickly discovered Snowcompare was a popular and useful service for holidaymakers, particularly in France. Unfortunately, just as the website began to take off the whole travel industry suffered from the covid-related travel bans at the end of the 2020 winter season and for the whole of the 2020/21 ski season. 

Despite the business almost closing permanently during this time, we were able to hold on until the re-opening of European ski resorts in December 2021. The original business of Snowbus and its shared transfers did cease to operate following covid though and we decided to put all of our efforts in to the new business model of Snowcompare.

From humble beginnings, and with some major obstacles in the way, we are proud that snowcompare.com has subsequently grown rapidly in terms of both our customer-base and also our list of trusted transfer partners. In the three ski seasons following covid we have been able to assist thousands of skiers & snowboarders in finding and booking their airport to ski resort transfers. We are very happy that not only have we made a real impact in terms of bookings taken, but also that we have become a reliable source of information and assistance for travellers needing help, as evidenced in the excellent customer feedback that we receive.

Our Team 

Dave – Managing Director

As the founder member of Snowcompare, Dave remains active within the business and committed to ensuring it remains the best possible service for both customers and transfer partners. As a relative late-comer to skiing & snowboarding having started whilst studying Psychology at the University of Birmingham, Dave subsequently spent several winter seasons working in hotels and bars in Alpe d’Huez and Tignes before going into business for himself.

With a passion for snowboarding and everything associated with the French mountain lifestyle, Dave has over 15 years experience within the snowsports & travel industry. Currently enjoying a moderately quieter life in the Midlands, Dave enjoys spending time with his family and is encouraging his 4 year old son to continue the family tradition by learning to ski. He continues to enjoy growing his knowledge of all areas of the travel sector as well as developing long-lasting industry partnerships which benefit Snowcompare and its clients. 

Alicia – Customer Experience Coordinator

Alicia is an international business graduate from the University of Wolverhampton with a global perspective shaped by her time living abroad, from New Zealand to China. Working at Snowcompare since 2023, she combines her passion for travel with a love of encouraging others to step outside their comfort zones and experience something new—even if it’s a little bit scary.

When she’s not helping others plan their trips to the slopes, you’ll likely find her outdoors enjoying long walks (weather permitting!) or booking a solo trip to explore new places. Whether it’s a city break in Sweden or attending a concert, Alicia is always seeking fresh experiences. And while she is a novice skier & snowboarder for the moment, her adventurous spirit means she’ll soon be mastering the slopes—one “pizza and fries” at a time!
