Ski Holiday Itinerary – Day 1: Arrival in the French Alps

Your adventure begins the moment you land at the airport, whether it’s Geneva, Lyon, or Chambéry. After a long flight, the last thing you want is the hassle of navigating public transport or figuring out directions to your accommodation. Pre-book a private transfer for a smooth and comfortable ride to your ski resort. Whether you’re staying in a luxurious chalet, cozy hotel, or AirBnB, your private driver will meet you at arrivals and whisk you away, giving you time to sit back and take in the breathtaking Alpine scenery.

Depending on your arrival time, you can settle into your accommodation and take a stroll around the town or resort. Many Alpine villages have charming markets and shops where you can pick up last-minute essentials or enjoy some local cheese and wine.

Ski Holiday Itinerary – Day 2: Hitting the Slopes

After a good night’s sleep, it’s time to hit the slopes! Whether you’re staying in Méribel, Val d’Isère, Chamonix, or Les Gets, the French Alps are known for having some of the best skiing conditions in the world.

Start your day with a hearty breakfast before heading to the ski lift. For beginners, most resorts offer ski lessons, while seasoned skiers can go straight for the more challenging runs. Many ski resorts in the French Alps are interconnected, giving you access to hundreds of kilometers of slopes.

Recommended Resorts:

  • Val Thorens (part of the Three Valleys): The highest ski resort in Europe with varied runs for all levels.
  • Les Arcs: Perfect for families with beginner-friendly pistes and activities.
  • Chamonix: Ideal for advanced skiers looking for off-piste and backcountry skiing.

Ski Holiday Itinerary – Day 3: Skiing & Après-Ski Fun

Make the most of your second day on the slopes! Try exploring different runs and challenge yourself to improve your skills. Most French ski resorts offer incredible terrain parks if you’re into freestyle skiing or snowboarding.

After a full day on the mountain, it’s time for some après-ski. French Alps resorts like Val d’Isère and Méribel are famous for their après-ski culture, where bars and pubs come alive with music, dancing, and drinks. Whether you want to relax with a glass of vin chaud or party into the night, the après-ski scene is not to be missed.

Ski Holiday Itinerary – Day 4: Rest Day & Alpine Spa

By day four, your legs might need a break from all the skiing. Take it easy and explore the surrounding area. Many resorts offer spa facilities, perfect for relaxing and rejuvenating sore muscles. A hot tub or sauna with panoramic views of the snow-covered mountains is the perfect way to unwind.

If you’re feeling up for it, try some non-skiing activities like snowshoeing, dog sledding, or a helicopter tour for a unique perspective of the Alps.

Ski Holiday Itinerary – Day 5: Ski Safari or Off-Piste Adventure

If you’re looking for a new challenge, sign up for a ski safari where you can explore different ski areas across the region. Resorts like Les Trois Vallées or Portes du Soleil offer multi-resort access, allowing you to ski from one village to another in a day.

For advanced skiers, you could also hire a guide to take you off-piste for a true backcountry experience. The untouched snow and majestic Alpine landscapes make it an unforgettable adventure, but safety is key, so always go with a trained professional.

Ski Holiday Itinerary – Day 6: Explore the Village & Fine Dining

On your last full day, take some time to explore the charming mountain village you’ve been staying in. Many resorts have traditional French markets where you can find local products like cheese, charcuterie, and wine. You can also check out local artisan shops for souvenirs and gifts.

In the evening, treat yourself to a special meal at one of the area’s fine-dining restaurants. Many Alpine towns are home to Michelin-starred or gourmet restaurants offering traditional Savoyard dishes like raclette or fondue paired with French wines.

Your ski holiday comes to an end, but the journey home can still be as smooth and comfortable as your arrival. A private transfer will pick you up from your chalet, hotel, or AirBnB and take you directly to the airport. Relax and reminisce about your incredible week in the French Alps as you are driven through the snowy mountain roads. With your bags packed and skis stored safely in the vehicle, you can enjoy the final views of the breathtaking landscapes.

A 7-day ski holiday in the French Alps offers the perfect blend of adventure, relaxation, and cultural experience. From world-class skiing to indulgent spa days and cozy après-ski fun, every moment is crafted to give you an unforgettable winter experience. And with the convenience of private transfers from the airport to your accommodation and back, your holiday starts and ends stress-free.

So what are you waiting for? Book your trip, pack your skis, and get ready for a winter wonderland adventure in the French Alps!

Easy to use comparison website for ski transfers.

Easy to use. Plenty of quotes. Can add extra flight details in the comments box. This was required due to our group arriving on two different planes. Comments were not shown at the summary stage before paying. When I went back a page to check them they had disappeared so I had to input the details again.
