End of Season Round-Up
With the 2018/19 winter season officially ended across Europe (despite unexpected snowfall in the last week) we wanted to have a look back at what’s been happening here at Snowcompare.com
This winter was a big test for us as it was the first year where we had everything on the website set-up as we wanted it. We have also been steadily increasing transfer partners around Europe so we can offer the best prices to our customers. Despite tough trading conditions due to a below average snowfall in our biggest area (France), and concerns over Brexit affecting late-season booking numbers – we are very pleased with how everything went.
Private Ski Transfers
Private transfer booking numbers shot up from last season as we offered a more comprehensive list of partners with more availability, and the lowest private transfer prices available. The vast majority of customers were able to travel with their first choice transfer supplier, and were very happy with both the cost and the service received.
Our busiest country of operation by far was France, and particularly the Tarentaise area of France. This is not a surprise as it is one of the most popular ski destinations in the world and features some of Europe’s best resorts such as Val d’Isere, Courchevel & Meribel all in the same valley. We also picked up ski transfer bookings for Morzine & Chamonix in France, and popular resorts in Austria such as St Anton & Kitzbuhel.
Moving forward, our focus will be on building our partnerships within Italy, Switzerland & Austria so we are confident we are offering the best possible transfer options in these areas. France will always be key to Snowcompare, and ensuring customers can be confident in the quality of private ski transfers will also be important moving forward.
Shared Ski Transfers
Our premier winter season offering scheduled shared transfers yielded mixed results. Bookings were slow at first but picked up towards the end of the season which is encouraging for the future. At present we are working with just a handful of shared transfer companies – again focused around the Tarentaise area of France.
Shared transfers from Geneva airport to the likes of Tignes, Les Arcs & Val Thorens will always be popular and will feature prominently on the Snowcompare site in future seasons. Our emphasis moving forward though will be both to identify more suppliers running these journeys (so customers have more choice) as well as bringing in more alternative and non-weekend shared transfers.
Similarly, we will be looking to attract more shared transfer providers across other areas of France, particularly in the Morzine and Portes du Soleil area, and from other popular airports such as Grenoble & Lyon. Shared ski transfers in countries other than France seem to be limited, but we will aim to partner with them wherever possible.
Customer Satisfaction
One of the most pleasing things about this season has been that in almost all cases, customers have been completely satisfied both with the booking process on Snowcompare.com – and the transfer service that they have been provided with.
Independent feedback from Feefo has yielded 5* reviews and fantastic feedback across the board. Some of our favourite comments include:
‘Super efficient and friendly service’
‘ensures you get a really competitive quote for your transfer’
‘a quick reply including…the best value deal I could find’
‘Fast, competitive quotes and a simply booking system’
Similarly, customer feedback on the actual transfer journeys has been excellent, and allows future customers to feel confident booking with Snowcompare transfer partners.
The Future
There’s always room for improvement of course, and we’ll be taking this summer to make some slight adjustments to the website where needed – including making reviews and terms & conditions easier to access.
The big push of course will be to get the word out to as many potential ski transfer customers as possible. We truly believe we’ve created a useful transfer booking website which saves people both time and money – and we want as many people to have the opportunity to use it as possible.
From all of us here at the Snowcompare.com team – we look forward to working with you again in the near future.
