The Shortest Ski Transfers From Geneva Airport
Our Top 5 Ski Resorts with the Quickest (& Cheapest) Transfers from Geneva Airport
Geneva airport is undoubtedly one of the biggest and busiest transport hubs for skiers and snowboarders during the winter months. Situated on the border between Switzerland and France, Geneva airport sees tourists heading to some of Europe’s best ski resorts passing through.
This mass of travellers has been created partly because of Geneva’s size, partly because of its links with low-cost airlines, and partly because it’s location provides some of the quickest and convenient ski transfers to some amazing French resorts.
The airports two terminals handled close to 200.000 takeoffs and landings in 2017 – accommodating 17.4 million passengers. 58 airlines pass through Geneva airport – including major low-cost UK operators such as EasyJet, Flybe and Jet2.
What we’ll be concentrating on in this blog though is Geneva’s excellent location and transport links which provide some of the quickest and cheapest transfers available to French ski resorts. No one wants to spend three hours in a minibus traversing winding mountain roads. It is necessary in some situations unfortunately, but if you have the choice why not choose shorter transfers and more skiing time.
Here are our favourite 5 resorts with the shortest ski transfers from Geneva airport:

La Clusaz resort is often overlooked by British tourists, but is a little gem of a village which is definitely worth taking a look at. A transfer time of just over an hour from Geneva airport is one of the biggest draws of La Clusaz. The lack of international skiers and snowboarders means there are very few crowds though. The resort has been left as a traditional and authentic French village which is entirely unique these days. The La Clusaz ski area which spans 5 lift-linked mountains also deserves more attention.
Les Gets
Transfer distance – 84km
Approximate private transfer time – 1 hour 15 minutes
Cheapest private transfer price – £154
Les Gets is a resort known for being great for families. The wooden chalets-style buildings provide an authentic French ski village feel with a friendly, safe atmosphere. Links in to the large Portes du Soleil ski area are good, as well as Les Gets local slopes being plentiful and often much quieter than those in Morzine and Avoriaz.
